Deep Dive

JPG Conversion Technical Info

JPG (JPEG) uses Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) lossy compression. It is excellent for photographs but poor for graphics with sharp edges or text. When converting from PNG or BMP, the image is re-encoded which may introduce minor artifacts. For best results, use 90%+ quality. Color space is preserved as sRGB.
